After booking a room a month in advance, informing the motel's agent that our arrival could be expected between 9:30-10:15 pm, and being informed that punctuality would be advised as their office closed at 11:00 pm, my husband and I arrived in Outlook after a 7 hour drive at 10:10 pm to find that the office was closed, and the owners/managers who live directly above the office not responsive to calls. At the time of booking, I was also told that my booking was for the last room available. Upon arrival, there were 2 vehicles in the parking lot and no other sign of occupancy. Thankfully ONE room above a tavern was available so that we weren't left stranded in rural Saskatchewan without accommodations. Disappointment and frustration are under statements. On a side note, the gentleman at the Irrigation Center down the street was friendly, helpful and sympathetic, although his establishment was (sadly, for us) full.
