By Ryan from TweedPretty Much Own The Vacation Rental MarketActing as a property manager for individuals and small businesses that own houses, condos and apartments used for short term rentals in the Collingwood/Blue Mountain area. This real estate company seems to pretty much have total control over the short term vacation rental market in this area. This allows them to manipulate both supply and price of units. They have a ridiculous lease agreement process and demand large amounts of money upfront in very short time periods for both securing the rental and damage deposits. The agreement violates the Ontario tenancy act for example stating they will not pay interest on deposit money. Then they are extremely slow in returning deposits after the rental is complete. They also seem to nickel and dime every little thing possible. For example on a short term rental (2 months or longer) they will make you put utilities in your own name, charge for water heater rental fees, charge for extra cleaning when no cleaning is required. One can understand that in the short term rental business there is more room for "bad tenants" so in some areas taking a hard line is understandable however they definitely seem to come across as trying to extract as much money out of your pocket as possible.No, I would NOT recommend this business to a friend-
