Kelly McCalmont practiced for many years as part of other law firms. Since beginning her practice in the Cornell community, she has reached out to clients in Cornell as well as Markham, York Region, the Greater Toronto Area and throughout Durham Region. She appears in various family courts, including Newmarket and Oshawa. After decades as a family lawyer and advice lawyer and duty counsel at Newmarket Court, she was honoured by an appointment to the Dispute Resolution Officer (DRO) Panel. This panel helps couples resolve their cases before beginning the litigation process. The appointment is given to practitioners with a recognized record of success resolving complex divorces and other family law disputes using alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods such as negotiation and mediation. Having practiced as an accountant before attending law school, Kelly is also particularly qualified to help clients through financial matters in their family disputes. At our practice, helping clients achieve financial stability can be as important as helping them deal with the practical and emotional effects of their separation.
