    They overcharge and dont evet file your taxes taxes and they dont call you back.
    If there was a 0 that's what I would have rated SmartTax aka Dumbtax. Filed with Dumbtax in March 2018.Got charged $161.00!! Not sure why they charge so much. husband got charged $270.00. We both only have 1 job each. Come July 20 2018 I get a letter from CRA stating I have not filed my taxes for 2017 so will not be recieving any Child Benefit payments!.I call Gerald -Smart Tax Edmonton- and he completely brushes me off. Does not apologize & says he will look into it. I had to call him 2 times that day to get an explanation!! Then he telsl me to come in and sign the paper work which I had already done back in March. Calls me back to then tell me he filed it 10 mins ago!? I ask him for an explnation & he says he doesn't know.? I ask for my money back and he says well we did out job! HAHA Laughable. I call head office in Sherwood park.. talk to multiple ppl at least 4 or 5 times in the past 2 weeks and nobody has called me back yet. It is now August 3 2018 - 10 business days later and still no call back from the VP of Smart Tax. Warning do not trust these ppl to do your taxes. i have to wait until Sept. 20th to get any Child benefit payments now. Plus they over charge to your taxes done only to not file!

    Do not use this Company!
    I had SmartTax in Edmonton/Sherwood Park do my taxes a couple years ago. Their service was slow and they made errors on my personal taxes (which were not complicated in the first place). They sent my tax papers in and I got my return, then I owed the government over 400$ back because of errors that could have easily been avoided.
    Also, I had them do two years of taxes at the same time. When I went in to pick up the paperwork and pay, they charged me a little over $70... I said, "Is this amount correct? It should be for two years!" He said "Yes we did two years and this is your total".
    Im not surprised that I now am getting phone calls and letters from SmartTax saying that I owe them another 74$. Due to their terrible service and inexperienced staff I will not be paying this amount nor do I recommend getting involved with them for either your personal or business taxes.
