TIW Steel
Platework Inc. is part of the Canadian Erectors group of businesses. The group
is engaged in the construction, fabrication and distribution sectors of the
steel industry. TIW is a completely integrated unit of design, manufacture and
construction of field erected steel platework structures.
TIW was
established in 1907 and was originally known as The Toronto Iron Works Company.
We were established as a supplier of process vessels, tankage and related
equipment to the petroleum industry. Our businesses’ expertise in steel
platework has since established it as a leading supplier to the chemical, pulp
and paper, mining and many other industries.
Due to the
type of work TIW does, we require an extensive technical support staff which is
completely conversant with the applicable building standards and codes. Over
many decades, the business has developed custom work procedures and retained
professional experts that are vital to the company’s successful operation. We

TIW is
registered to the international quality management system standard ISO
9001-2008. TIW is registered to the international quality management system
standard ISO 9001-2008. Our employees will work with you to meet requirements
and satisfy clients. The Quality System will be reviewed regularly in an effort
to continuously improve its effectiveness.
Facilities
Our facility consists of a 200,000sq.ft. material processing plant located on a ten acre property. The plant is complete with equipment required to fabricate carbon steel and alloy materials. Much of the equipment is semi-automatic, automatic and NC controlled to ensure consistent quality production. A full complement of specialized construction equipment is also housed and serviced at the St.Catharines facility. Development and updating of equipment is done on an ongoing basis in order to ensure production quality reliability at the job site.
