Butterfly Progressive Montessori Preschool

Butterfly Progressive Montessori Preschool follows a progressive approach to the Montessori method. We offer a half day preschool program at our McKay location and a full day childcare program at Brighouse. Our program promotes the acquisition of news skills by the children through exploration and manipulation of classroom materials as per the traditional Montessori methods. However, we believe in cultivating the whole child and know the importance of allowing creativity to promote growth. With this belief, our progressive methods add some flexibility to our Montessori curriculum. We regularly have the children participate in the decisions behind their work, such as coming up with the ideas for art activities. The teacher’s role in the classroom is to foster and satisfy the curious minds of the children in the areas of practical life, sensorial, language, mathematics, culture and art.
