Owen Sound Ribfest

The smells of smoke and barbecue sauce will, again, be wafting over the shores of Owen Sound late this summer as five professional "ribbers" make this one of their many stops on the 2014 North American tour. The teams compete for various trophies including best ribs, best chicken, best sauce and the coveted "People's Choice" award — as chosen by the festival attendees. Along with the ribbers, who come from as far away as Texas and Alabama, will be various other vendors with something for everyone. This is a family event with $2 admission (kids 12 and under, free), live music and kids' activities. Visitors only have to pay for food, beverages and what ever they purchase from the vendors. Most vendors accept cash only, there will be an ATM on site.
