By Meena from torontoThanks to LizI cant thank Liz enough for her work and for taking the time to take care of everything during our move (we just relocated to BC from Nova Scotia). I was moving there to be with my husband as he was finally able to find work. I was left to pack up the house, the kids and take care of the movers all by myself. It was not easy to do, but Liz was there to help through the way. She reposed to emails after hours and even resolved some issues when the delivery truck arrived (they didn’t receive the update in time for delivery of balance change). All in all the experience was good and I would have been probably even more stressed if it wasn’t the personal attention that I got (that’s one of the reasons why I booked). I had a few minutes and wanted to write a quick note to send my thanks. We are finally here - its a bit snowy but we are happy to be settled. Meena.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I was convinced they would take good care of my furniture. OMG i was wrong and I am so disappointed with them!!! The guys that came to do the packing have done a horrible job... So many things were broken and not only furniture but walls and flooring as well. The list is very long and i have thousands of dollars and damages and what they have offer is 100$. That's a joke! They have put a BBQ over furniture that how they don't care about their job. I'm trying to keep my text short but if you are thinking to booked them, please contact me before and I'll explain how horrible it was.

The company we booked with turned out to be an agent (this was not disclosed during booking) and we ended up moving with Kingsway Van Lines. Our shipment weighed in at double the correct weight (we since received a second opinion that confirms the correct weight). When I contacted Kingsway about the obvious mistake/inaccuracy of the weigh in I was blamed. The agent implied that I was lying and cited items that would easily make up that weight... items that were not in my shipment! My total due was double my estimate. When I was made aware of the total and the weight one day before my shipment was to be delivered, I requested a re-scale, which was refused. The driver had no scale ticket to show me and told me he had no record of the weigh in. Many months later I have still not been provided a copy of the scale ticket as requested. Several pieces of our furniture were badly damaged. Some of the damage would be impossible without excessive or unnecessary force used. I bought a mattress protector from them directly for superior protection, yet somehow it was ripped through and my mattress scuffed and stained. During unloading I witnessed one mover roughly knock two boxes marked 'fragile' off the top of a tall pile (falling a good 6 ft) and leave them on the ground while the movers walked around them for several trips. When my shipment arrived the driver threatened to leave the province and withhold my goods when I was hesitant about paying the incorrect bill, to which hidden fees were added (for services clearly included upon booking). I am extremely disappointed in both the moving service provided by Kingsway as well as the customer service, as no effort has been made to resolve my issues and instead I have been met with hostility and condescension. Please take the poor reviews very seriously and stay away from this company. If you care about your belongings, time, and your wallet please heed the warning and look elsewhere.No, I would NOT recommend this business to a friend
By John from Kanata, Ontario(1 of 1 customers found this review helpful)Up Date - Threaten Instead of SettleSo I received the following email from the General Manager: Hi John, We have been in communication with our legal team and have been advised to let you know that if you don’t remove the false comments on-line we will have to proceed in one of the following ways: Collections Small Claims Liens on property As you are currently in breach of contract as per the settlement you signed. Kingsway will provide you with 48 hours to remove these comments/reviews or we will proceed with the above mentioned ways. Yours truly, I responded and received the following reply: Hi John, This is what I was instructed to advise you of. You can choose to take it as you would like, however before you decide how to proceed please review the terms of your settlement agreement and contract terms and conditions. I replied that: "If that is the case have your legal team draft me a letter citing specific "falsehoods. " That was on August 12th. I haven't heard since. . . They destroy my property, refuse to realistically settle and then threaten me because I post a negative review. Is this really a company you want to do business with?No, I would NOT recommend this business to a friend

We were promised professional movers and staff. Yet when the day finally came for delivery, a person from "Labour Ready," shows up an hour early to help them. We paid $1,800 for Kingsway to pack our belongings to ensure the best possible outcome. When it came time to unpack some of the items we saw had been simply thrown in a box without any wrapping. Wooden table legs were taped together and thrown in with light shades. They used packing tape to secure a number of screws and taped it to our entertainment table. When they removed the tape upon delivery the finish came off with the tape; not even an apology. They used an antique plate as a buffer for the toaster oven. Some of our items were in old boxes from the previous move - they didn't open the boxes or ensure they were properly packed; they simply threw them on the truck. During the unloading we watched in horror as the casual labour was given our 160lbs dining room table and told to take it up the stairs by himself. Before I could get to him, he had banged the table on every step and was dragging the exposed wood on the floor. At the same time, the driver and his permanent helper were sharing the weight of our 40lbs Weber charcoal grill. My favourite part though, was when we told her that we were missing two boxes of electronics totaling $1,700.00 and a box of juice for our wine kit. She basically called me a liar and said that these items were never documented on their inventory so they cannot be missing. At the end of the day, we paid Kingsway $6,800.00 for three months of anxiety, stress and arguments. Our damages are in excess of $3,500.00 and missing items in excess of $1,700.00. Kingsway graciously offered us $108.36 which includes a customer satisfaction bonus of $75.00.No, I would NOT recommend this business to a friend

In a matter of a few weeks, I had to plan to move my entire family, household and everything we called home. We went online to get quotes and after much research we chose Kingsway Van Lines. I was really impressed with the honest responses. Everyone said no extra charges, no hidden fees, but Liz actually took the time to explain to me what are considered extra fees and when they would apply. Something that no one did with the other quotes. The crew arrived within the time scheduled, and I was blown away by how quick and great they were. We arrived and within 48 hours our truck was in Ontario. Delivery took place in Port Severn, ON and I know that its not a big city bit i will make sure to spread the word around once I get settled and recommend these folks to everyone. From the beginning stages until after the delivery I had nothing but excellent service. The quote was a little higher than others, but after lots and lots of research I decided the extra little bit of money was worth it. The staff in the office was eager to help with me with all of my questions, the pickup crew walked me through the process and were extremely carefully when they were handling my stuff. The delivery was right in the time frame promised and the office kept in touch with me throughout the move, so I could plan my travels as well. I couldn't have made a better decision and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a quality mover.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

They were not the cheapest but came most recommended by friends who have moved with their in August. We had a partial packing service and we moved our motorcycle which was the most expensive piece in our shipment. Everything arrived in good shape and we were happy with the service. They took care of my husbands bike. They were also great to get back to us always and communication was always open. If we needed someone to respond, there would be always someone on staff. Response time was much appreciated especially during the holiday season. I would not hesitate to use them again, although I would rather not move again. M. BergYes, I would recommend this to a friend

My family and I moved to Ontario becuase I was able to accept a better position for my work and when looking for quotes around, Kingsway Van Lines came highly recommended. Pleasantly suprised the crew showed up on time and offered a very warm and good service. We left them with a $30 tip each. They were so thankful. One of them was from my hometown. When we arrived to Ontario we were happy to hear that the truck was arriving in about 2 days time. Disptach called me to say that everything was scheduled and we were anxious to meet the truck. When the truck arrived at delivery, it was a good experience. The movers laid runners and protected all the new items in our house from the snow and mud, I didnt even have to ask them to do that. All in all, the move was well priced and the service that we got was excellent.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Took the time to set up everything and protect the floor with runners. Was impressed that they took time and didnt rush through the pick up and delivery portion. The guys noted the most expensive items and suggested extra ways to protect them during transportation. Our antique piano was my most pized possesion and I was excited to see it in one piece after such a long move. I expect some damage during a move and knew that it could happen. But in this case very minor damage happened and I was impressed. Cant believe the personal attention that the disptach and staff showed us.
