Established
in 1930, McRae Engineering Equipment Ltd. has been supplying Canadian
industries with top-of-the-line valve assemblies, Tranter, Basco and other heat
exchangers, blowers, pneumatic actuators, filters and many other process
equipment, control and measurement solutions.
Percy McRae
started his equipment sales company in an office in downtown Toronto to market
the steam turbine products of Moore Steam Turbines in Eastern Canada.Durin the
1930s and 1940s, Percy sold many turbines to the new and existing developing
industries in that region, including paper mills, steel plants and refineries.
The Moore Turbine business became the Worthington Turbine company.
In the
early 1950s, Bill Macneill joined McRae Engineering Equipment Limited to assist
Percy in sales. During this period of a time, a variety of new equipment lines
were added to the product range, including Peerless gas filters and separators,
Basco heat exchangers, Universal Silencers, Schutte and Koerting ejectors and
Clark Reliance boiler trim. This allowed McRae to sell a variety of process
equipment to a bigger industrial market. New customers were in the boiler
manufacturing and natural gas transmission market.
The business
moved to a new location in a larger building to the north of the downtown, and
started to carry an inventory of products. Also at this time, McRae
expanded their product range into metering pumps, industrial valve assemblies, and pneumatic
actuators. The ownership of McRae Engineering Equipment Limited
passed to Bill Macneill from Percy in 1969.
McRae Engineering Equipment Limited's long standing mission has been to build long-term relationships with both our valued customers and dedicated suppliers with quality products and exemplary service. The business now rightfully boasts having the highest quality pneumatic actuators, Tranter heat exchangers, oxidizers, and valve assemblies from top-of-the-line manufacturers.
