Gould's Drug Store, founded by John Crawford Gould - also the founding CEO of Drug Trading Company - in 1920, was an anchor in the Fairbank Community. Fergy Brown, who joined the store in 1950 as a pharmacist, was the proprietor from 1967 to 2000, when the store was sold to a franchise. Without the personal touch of a 'corner druggist' the store closed within four years.
