Veritas Books & Gifts

Our Mission To promote the Sacred tradition, Sacred Scripture and the living Magisterium of the Catholic Church, through the sale of books, multi-media and other materials. To help Catholics to a better understanding of their Faith, to defend it and to cultivate the good habit of reading. Who We Are Veritas Catholic Books and Gifts was opened on October 4, 1994 in the Brewery Market on Lower Water Street. Since then it has undergone several re-locations until finding the present location at 1546 Barrington Street. From the very beginning the Veritas Society was incorporated in Nova Scotia as a non-profit corporation. It was also registered as a charity with Revenue Canada which means donations to the Society are tax deductible. Membership in the Society is made up of all donors and of the associates who serve at the bookstore six days a week. On August 6th, 2015 the Franciscans of Halifax accepted to continue the mission of Veritas. ?Since 2011, many people have also enjoyed shopping at Veritas in Enfield in the Parker Place Mall.
