I just read Stephen Cole's memoir of his experiences as a child, adult and Vietnam Nam service.
Please forward this to Mr. Cole.
Firstly, permit me to disclose where I'm coming from - I'm 75 years of age: on Aboriginal issues: my grandmother was a Squamish aboriginal who never disclosed that she was Aboriginal: I am a loner: I supported the Viet Nam war on the basis of the Domino Theory and I still support it. We bankrupted the USSR and the Viet Nam War went s long way to accomplishing that. We Canadians paid immense taxes and a large amount of it went towards bankrupting the USSR so, in that way I contributed my share.
As to Mr. Cole's book. I was deeply moved by it; I recognized many of his responses to the events before, during, after and present.
I thank you, Mr. Cole ... you spoke directly to me. My eyes were often misty - and that's not a common response for an ex-police officer.
Yours truly
