      BUSINESS DESCRIPTION

Did you know? Most jewellers carry pieces that are ordered from catalogs, or mass-produced by wholesalers. Even your average "custom designed" piece from the local jeweller is often completely outsourced from its beginning to its end. These outsourced processes often include designing, casting, benchwork, setting, polishing, and plating. Why settle for a run of the mill generic piece when we can create for you a bespoke piece of art; custom tailored to your style, desires, and imagination. All of our pieces are custom designed and hand crafted in Toronto. Unlike our competition we don’t believe in cutting corners and outsourcing our work. Jewellery to us, is a passion of love and heritage. We are proud to call our selves Goldsmiths and Silversmiths. Pritam Chohan is a jeweller born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is also known as the founder and designer of Chohan Goldsmiths Silversmiths. Pritam started his humble beginnings in the jewellery industry from a young age of 5 when he would accompany his father, master goldsmith, (Gurdip Singh Chohan) to his studio after school. Pritams father learnt goldsmithing back in his native country of India (Punjab). Taught by his family members who carried a long lineage of jewellers. Pritams father had decades of expirence working as a diamond setter for some of Canada's biggest jewellery stores before he ventured out on his own to open his own jewellery businesses. By the age of 8, Pritam had starting sitting on the bench alongside his father and learning some basic techniques of filing and forming metals. Pritam continued to practice and learn alongside his father till the age of 15. Acquiring skills in wax carving, casting, soldering, stone setting, polishing, goldsmithing, and silversmithing. By this young age Pritam was able to have thorough discussions and debates on jewellery and manufacturing techniques with master jewellers upwards of 5 times his own age.
