GroovyYurts imports authentic natural fiber Yurts from Mongolia since 2003. In the spirit of fair-trade, Groovy Yurts are built by two families in Mongolia from renewable materials sourced from the local community. We support local initiatives, including two women's cooperatives whose felt products are available on the website; two families whose hand-crafted Mongolian furniture we also offer; and a tree nursery to insure that forests are replenished. The Mongolian Yurt predates European civilization. Its design has evolved over the centuries, making the Yurt possibly the most practical, efficient, economical and sustainable form of shelter in existence. Hot weather or cold, windy, dry or damp - Yurts stand up to the most extreme conditions. And the best part? Thanks to the biannual Groovy Delivery Tour we will personally deliver the Yurt of your choice to your door anywhere in North America and set it up to meet your specific needs.
