It is appreciated when the customers do contact and bring to our attention any problems with any particular order. I contacted the customer in February 2016 and offered to either replace the trees at no charge or send a refund for replacement trees. A refund was mailed in the 2nd week of February 2016. As far as I am aware the trees were up to standard as listed on my online catalogue. The problem of the cut bark will be addressed and corrected for future orders. Our warranty is quite simple: I guarantee the trees to be alive and in good health as they leave the nursery. If they fail to leaf out or put on new growth by the end of July they will either be replaced for the following spring or a refund made If the shipment is damaged in transit, then the customer may collect a refund from the carrier as all shipments are insured. I will gladly assist the customer in this matter.

Poor quality and poor problem resolution
We manage an organic fruit and vegetable farm and have been successfully mail ordering and planting trees and plants for the past 15 yrs. In Spring 2015, we ordered 12 mixed trees from Rhora's to test them out. They were responsive to our pre-order emails and helpful with information on the required certificates to import. The problem began once the trees arrived. 3 of the trees were clearly under the minimum size that we had paid for and a bunch more were borderline, even being generous. Almost all of them had inferior rootstock. 3 of them also had their bark cut and stripped because the packer had tied them together too tightly and not padded them adequately. We gave them TLC above and beyond what we normally do to bring them back, but 4 still died. Another 4 are barely hanging on. After the 4th died, we emailed Rhora's, using them same email for all previous communication, to let them know and requested a replacement or refund. They did not respond. That was a couple months ago. It seems my experience is fairly common after finding other websites like Dave's Garden. We only wish we had done a better web search and found these reviews before I ordered.
