Riddle: what would you call a delivery person who physically blocks your door from closing demanding a cash tip when you've already paid and tipped when you ordered online through just eat? You might have come up with a few ideas, they're probably good ones, I'm going to go ahead and call it robbery. When a business transaction is already complete: my money (with a tip) in exchange for food... and then the delivery person extorts you for more cash refusing to leave your personal space and place of residence until you've emptied your change purse into his pocket! Then when you call the restaurant to inform them of their dodgy delivery practices they tell you call the police they are the ones who deal with robbers. Excuse me? You're going to knowingly send out staff that you've hired, rip your customers off, and then suggest I bog down our local law enforcement IF I feel I've been wronged? Despite your aggressive customer service (or lack thereof) yes I do feel wronged. Should I apologize? Is it normal to have someone enter your home, make you feel threatened and then demand cash or they won't leave? Also, don't try to call after 8 - they don't employ any one with authority (their words). Calling after 8 will get you an aggressive staff person with no judgement or ability to deliver customer service. Please, oh that's right they never said please, call back during day hours. With the amount of small businesses, in particular restaurants, that don't survive you'd think hiring staff with basic hospitality knowledge would be at the top of your priorities; however, there was no "thank you for your business we're looking into the situation. You're right, that behavior is unacceptable even criminal" only "call back during day hours to talk to a manager, and call the police if we robbed you." Slow clap and congratulations on your greasy egg roles and average noodles. Buyer beware this one is a lemon.
