Shelley Ugyan has over 15 years experience working with eating disorders and anxiety disorders of all kinds. Eating disorders can take many forms, therefore the treatment approach may vary however evidence-based CBT is the most effective treatment in these areas, especially when it is paired in combination with psychodynamic, relational and hypnosis approaches also as needed. Healing is probable, and happens as a result of conscious daily actions and unconscious dynamics that shift as a result of this process. Shelley works with individuals who are ready and willing to change their thinking to heal for life. Using both the top bottom and bottom-up treatment approaches a person seeking treatment will see a shift very quickly in both the conscious behaviors that come with the disorders and the unconscious patterning and belief systems that continue to keep you stuck. Eating disorder recovery and some anxiety disorders involve working on both levels of cognition.
