By mike from Windsorgrossly underestimated cost, stolen item worth $3500This company moved our household goods from Calgary to Windsor via Toronto with a month of storage. The total payment to them was about $4000 less than the quotes from the National companies for the same total weight of the shipment. However, this company does not stand by their guarantees and normal responsibility for the condition of the goods and insurance to cover the items. A large framed artwork was stolen from the shipment somewhere along the line of their transfers of goods or in their storage facility. The art piece is worth about $3500 and they have made no attempt to make an insurance claim or to get back to me to discuss what they are going to do about it. Additionally, the original estimate was ridiculously low, but I checked the actual weight (from Allieds' estimate) and multiplied by Trillium's cost per pound to come up with about $10,000 estimated cost. The actual total demanded (before delivery of your goods) was $12,500 and with the stolen piece of artwork the actual cost to me was $16,000 which is about what Allied and others were quoting right from the start. So there was no actual cost savings using Trillium and nobody stood by their claims of an insured shipment. In fact the customer service people avoided calling be back about the stolen piece and I had to keep hounding them. They did not seem too concerned that someone in their organisation is a basic criminal. So, I would not recommend using this outfit as it was generally a great disappointment in business relations and I lost a unique and irreplaceable piece of artwork during their moving process.No, I would NOT recommend this business to a friend

I requested a visual survey, and was told that they do not offer them for smaller shipments, but they would provide an estimate if I give them a detailed list of our belongings. I provided this, and received a quote for $1900. I agreed to hire them. Just before delivery was due, the driver called saying the shipment would arrive soon, and I must have payment of $5014 ready to pay on arrival. I called Kate Roberts who told me that the weight was higher than the estimate, so I’d have to pay it. I told her I could not afford that much, and asked her to return the shipment, but she said she could not do that, and that, if I did not pay, our belongings would be placed in storage and after a certain amount of time, they would sell our belongings. I refused to pay. I contacted the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services, who affirmed to me that this was an illegal act, and that it is against the law in Canada and the US for any company to charge more than 10% higher than an estimate. Because I needed the goods, I agreed grudgingly, on a lower price ($2880, so still a great deal higher than the $1900 I was quoted), and the goods were delivered. When the goods arrived, they were stacked so high that the boxes on the bottoms were crushed. There was one man to unload the truck, and he could not lift the goods on his own. He used a dolly to take furniture up the stairs. A dresser had a hunk of wood ripped out of the base when he took the dolly out. His response was “you have to expect that to happen when you use a dolly to move heavy furniture.” Many goods were damaged, and some items were completely missing. On the inventory form that was made, they had marked every single item on the inventory as “chipped,” “scratched” and “worn” so they would not be held responsible for the damage they would do to the shipment. It’s very unlikely that my insurance claim (which is for over $1000 of damages) will be honored.No, I would NOT recommend this business to a friend

We moved a large household with packing services provided by the company. It was originally arranged by my wife who contacted the movers, but I was the one at both ends. Great work from very hard working team. We didnt want to hire the cheapest but wanted to stay within budget. Trillium was very reasonable and packing services makes sense so we didnt have to stress about it before moving day. The crew worked very hard and wrapped and packed everything non stop. I would not hesitate to recommend them and offer myself as reference for these movers.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Many months ago we moved to Montreal and the company we chose delivered late. We were concerned that this would happen again. But despite the bad weather conditions and road closures, Trillium still delivered within the promised time frame. My sincere thanks to Kate who was wonderful. Kept me updated through every step and had responded to my crazy questions even after business hours. Chloe was our moving planner and she was extremely helpful. Kate was also available when I needed answers. We received am in-home estimate for 4 different companies and our employer selected Trillium. Not only because of the price but also because of the services they could perform. Full packing was a requirement along with partial storage and hoisting services at delivery time. We required some partial storage and delivery first week of January in NY. Everything went as planned and our most important requirement which was the delivery time frame was when they delivered. It was wonderful to work with Jack and Mark and his team at delivery. Great to see that there are people out there who still love what they are doing and are still devoted to the work not just the pay. Great review for Trillium Moving as they really did deserve it. However, being that Chloe was so wonderful to deal with during this stressful move, I promised the company that I would post something following my delivery. I would like to report that I was very happy with the service. We relocated our office and small family condo from Quebed Saint Laurent area to Florida. We are finally retiring. Through no fault of the company there were some delays with closing the new home here and we had no choice but to arrange storage at the last minute. The company was kind enough to place the goods in storage, locate the storage facility and pay for it. Once we were able to have access to our home, they re-arrange delivery and everything went as scheduled. I was extremely impressed with the response times through the company and Chloe was amazing to deal with. We had made changes to our reservation every other day almost and through all of this she was still great to deal with. We have another part of our office to move and Trillium Moving has already started the packing job on that one. Excellent Service!Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We had terrible weather on the pick up date (Nov 7) but the crew never complained once. There was tons of snow and the cold weather temperatures didnt help, but they never once complained. We requested for the same crew to appear at the delivery part but it wasnt promised - we understood. We were pleasantly suprised when we opened our door and the crew that we requested appeared. We were happy becuase they knew our stuff and were very helpful. Didnt rush the delivery and took the time to place everything where it needed to go. The storage in between the pick up and delivery was also included as a part of the quote/price and this was a great bonus. We felt very comfortable with the crew in our home and this was a great experience. They are very recommended by our family!Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

In august I made the appointment for my stuff to be picked up in Regina, everything went good, the men were very nice and helpful I had to keep my stuff with them for longer than I thought, Kate was very good and helped me a lot to make the plans for the storage. Last weekend they delivered my stuff to my new condo in Toronto. The delivery men were polite and very quick, they helped me put my bed up and they were very clean. My many moves across the country and many relocation I knew what to expect more or less, and I was very happy with the result of this move. We had moved using the big boys at a very high price and we also used smaller companies but weren't very happy. Trillium Moving was great to deal with and being that they are a family run business we were very happy with the final results and happy to support a family run Canadian Business. Kudos to Chloe and Lisa and Sarah, they were great to deal with and had ensured that I was aware and knew what was going to happen in every part of the move. The quote was the best part and the final price was around what I expected. Trillium Moving had offered us a good service and we thought that they deserved a good review.
