Founded in 1957 by Lidia Danesi, Mamma's Pizza has grown to become a local Pizza Favourite.

Lidia grew up in a small village atop the mountain town Limano in the Tuscany area of Italy. When Lidia came to Canada, she brought many Italian recipes that had been passed on to her from her ancestors. 

Lidia opened one of the very first Toronto Italian restaurants known as Monte Carlo Restaurant - Mamma's Pizza™ which today has become one of Toronto's longest running culinary institutions.

Mamma's Pizza was one of the first restaurants to introduce pizza to Toronto. Lidia could often be seen preparing pizza in the window. Customers were amazed with their first experience of biting into a fresh slice of homemade pizza. Soon after, she became known as: "Mamma, Queen of the Pizza's" and that is how Mamma's Pizza™ was born. 

Mamma's Pizza™ has since been proudly passed on to the second and third generation of Lidia's family.

Mamma's Pizza™ produces now, just the same way they did back then, pizza dough made fresh daily on the premises, along with fresh homemade sauces. Mamma's Pizza™ offers a choice of two styles of pizza.

Traditional Mamma's Pizza™ uses fresh toppings such as pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers, sliced tomatoes, olives etc..

Mamma's Gourmet pizza, offers toppings such as sun dried tomatoes, roasted red peppers, grilled zucchini, marinated eggplant, etc.. Mamma's Pizza™ also offers a choice of specialty cheeses such as goat, feta, ricotta, gorganzola and a specially blended house cheese.
