Upon entering this store, I was greeted in a friendly manner and was given excellent and honest advise on which mattress would suit me.I am quite satisfied with it.Therefore I returned to the same store to look at their sofas and found the exact style I was looking for.Upon delivery,I am very happy with this sofa as well. All the staff are friendly,knowledgeable and honest. I would highly recommend Surplus Furniture and Mattress Warehouse to everyone.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

By linda from St. CatharinesSurPlus Furniture& Mattress WarehouseI saw a bedroom set that I thought would be perfect for my daughter for Christmas. I brought her in and she choose one that she liked. I was so excited finally maybe she would sleep in her own bed n let mommy have her bed to herself. Well after putting down a couple of deposits I was notified my set had been discontinued but mine was still available n the price had gone down $248. Great I was given the option if I didn't want it but I said no I still want it. well. Nov 28 I received a call about my layaway I mentioned I was going away but would make a payment when I get back. well to my surprise when I got back there was a message left on my phone that my layaway was being sold as the employee did not note that I would be away. they then tried to sell me the display that 3- 6 pieces were damaged. why would I want damaged goods! I was so upset. Not sure what kind of communication is going on there but seems like they just wanted to make a sale at any cost n didn't care about customer satisfaction or a signed contract that I wanted my bedroom set brand new not display model. To make matters worse they said I would have to wait 2 days to see if I could get my $ back as it may be only store credit. I would never trust their word n leave my money as credit. I would not go back to the St.Catharines On location They should have sold the display to someone else not mine.No, I would NOT recommend this business to a friend
By May from New Maryland(1 of 2 customers found this review helpful)Not a good experienceMy husband and I went into the Fredericton Store and picked out a sofa for our daughter who was graduating from college. We picked one and put a deposit down. He tried to sell us coverage but we declined. Since my daughter had a cat he wrote up our contract, he added the coverage to our bill. I then again said we didn't want the coverage and he said he just added it on in case we changed our mind. I then took my daughter to the store and she found another sofa she preferred. They said they had to order it in. We changed the description on our order and transferred the deposit to the new sofa. I again to the same salesman that we didn't want the coverage his response was, so your husband wants to pay for another couch in 6 months, because according to him the cat would have ruined it by then. We were so taken aback by that comment, that we immediately left the store and went and purchased a sofa from Leon's, no coverage, and no pressure to buy it. We were contacted by the salesman no less than 4 times asking when we wanted it delivered, my husband told him each time we were not taking the sofa. He went into the store to get his deposit back, and they didn't have the money to give him. This went on from June to last week when he finally got his money. As a result of the comment made by him about my husband, is enough for us to not go back to Surplus to look for future purchases.No, I would NOT recommend this business to a friend-
