    Persona Communications now Eastlink
    several years ago i lived near sudbury ontario and i subscribed to personals cable phone and internet, when i moved and asked that they cancel my service and called in three times to ensure that my service had indeed been canceled i had no idea that the company was so rife with brazen incompetence, i recieved a letter in the mail seven months later stating that they were sending my account to collection, the account i had closed returned the equiptment for and paid the early cancelation fee for already, when i called them they had no record of my ever calling them before and they mentioned that i could not be contacted at my home phone, the phone service that they had provided before i had canceled it, after months of dealing with persona they assured me several times that the whole matter had been dealt with. it is now many years later and upon checking my credit report i have found that a collections agency believes that i owe persona quite a hefty sum. they do not keep records over two years and have no proof of my existance or involvement with thier company, they have thus far refused to help me in any way.
    the service they provided that i had purchased promised a dvr, i never recieved one though i still had to pay for it, when i inquired about this they claimed to have none left in stock, when i challenged thier charges they left me with a choice between accepting subpar service while paying for a service i was not recieving or to pay an excessive amount to cancel my unhonoured contract early.
    i did enjoy having cable and thier internet package included an acceptable bandwidth limit, it has been five years and i have not had cable since.
    No, I would NOT recommend this business to a friend
